Blessing Our Bleeding

A shabbat potluck medicinal meal, wisdom & story circle

honoring rituals of rest,

nourishment, & care for healing the full womb continuum

This in-person gathering will be held at a very special private residence in Woodstock, NY

July 14th 5-9pm ET

address given upon RSVP / space is limited

The womb is a spirit door.

A profound waxing & waning of spirit into matter moves here.

We gather to bless, honor, & heal the full continuum of womb bleeding: menstruation, pregnancy release of all kinds including miscarriage, abortion, childbirth, & postpartum periods

After lighting shabbat candles to welcome the Sheckinah, Samantha Zipporah will facilitate an info, skill & story share while participants enjoy a potluck medicinal meal. Drawing upon embodied wisdom from 20+ years of study & praxis tending the full womb continuum, Sam will begin by establishing vital insight into the commonality of physiology & biochemistry involved in all our womb bleeding experiences. The distinct form & function of uterine tissues, the biochemical states that influence their development & release will be discussed.

Sam invites us to create a culture of care that rests upon 4 pillars of blessing our bleeding:

  • rest

  • nourishment

  • warmth

  • community

Drawing from an array of recipes & rituals from diverse lineages across the globe & throughout history that fulfill those 4 pillars, she will share options to soothe body & soul during these tender transformative times. The psychology of pain, role of epigentics, & the collective grief work needed to heal our culture of bleeding will be discussed.

We will build an understanding of how plant medicine constituents & energetics can help contract, relax, tone, & stimulate uterine tissues throughout the womb continuum. Rather than focusing on specific materia medica or formulation, we will explore an overview of the broad categories & actions of :

  • emmenagogues

  • nutritives

  • nervines

  • analgesics

  • antispasmodics

  • styptics

In addition to plant medicine, practical actionable tips & tools for tending the greater gardens of our nervous & endocrine systems will be offered.

With the intention to counter the common narratives of isolation, suffering & subjugation we know all too well, an invitation for those gathered to share stories of blessings, triumphs, healing, pleasure & power during womb bleeding experienced or witnessed first hand will be extended. Poetry, artwork, or other modalities of expression related to positive bleeding experience are welcome in the circle as well.

By blessing our womb bleeding, the gateway is opened to give & receive healing for what has been inherited through our blood.

Save your spot in this sumptuous circle & RSVP with a sliding scale investment, suggested $36-$136.

Participants will receive a pdf with resources of excerpts from Sam’s books & other works providing information & inspiration for preparing nutrient dense ancestral foods for nourishing bleeding bodies. Participants are invited to prepare a dish of their choice that is yin/blood-nourishing, mineral rich, & warming to enjoy in circle.

With respect to ancestral & traditional foods for nourishing bleeding bodies, our potluck will be omnivorous. Any vegetarian & vegan folks joining may wish to bring extra provisions & not rely on the potluck to satisfy their bellies. The same suggestion applies to those with allergies & food sensitivities. All dishes should be clearly labeled with all ingredients.
