My Story

I have over 20 years of experience providing reproductive & sexual health education & care. I have served both my community & curiosity in personal, professional, & clinical contexts.

I am devoted to breaking the spells of oppression in reproductive & sexual health by connecting people to the innate pleasure & power of their bodies. Friends have joked that my business tagline should be, “If anything’s going in or out of a cervix, call Sam.”

I have provided care for all types of pregnancy release & a myriad of gynecological processes & procedures professionally in hospitals, clinics, & home settings. I am fluent in the tools, language, & methods of a myriad of conventional, alternative, & ancient traditional healing modalities.

My work rises from an ancient lineage of midwives, witches, & wise women.

As both a mystic & citizen scientist, I provide radical love for navigating the womb continuum.

I began seriously studying womb wisdom the year before I began bleeding, at age 11. My journals from 6th grade, several months before menarche, include my observation of the shifting sensations in my breasts, vaginal fluids, & mood in connection to the moon cycle.

Growing up in a family with reproductive health trauma, I began to study the books of luminaries in my field like Christiane Northrup & Rosemary Gladstar in hopes that I could heal & love my developing body. The desire to support others on their unique paths started early, & as my peers began to bleed & become sexually active I became an informal counselor & educator as early as 6th & 7th grade. Formal titles began to evolve in junior high school, when classmates voted for me to be one of the school’s few “peer counselors”. In 8th grade I started volunteering at Planned Parenthood as a peer educator. The volunteer job became a paid campus organizer position in college, & I later served as a patient advocate & abortion doula in Planned Parenthood’s clinics in Portland, Oregon.

At 16 I supported my first abortion. At 19 I began attending births. A few years later I completed Elizabeth Davis’s midwifery intensive training, & went on to spend nearly the entire decade of my 20s on-call for birth.

In my 30s I have embarked on a marvelous adventure of self employment, leaning into my craft as a writer & educator. A fierce champion of critical thinking, my approach is grounded in a solid understanding of biochemistry & biology, nourished by playfulness & levity, & enriched by authentic spirituality. My unique praxis weaves a balance of scientific & soulful inquiry to offer knowledge & embodied wisdom for claiming inner authority in fertility, sex, & cycles.

It’s an honor to offer vital, life-changing education for everyone from womb professionals to preteens. I provide counsel for a diverse array of fertility, sexuality, & pregnancy experiences. I am available to folks all over the world via video chat, e-books, & online courses. I also teach live classes & retreats.
